About Warakirri College in Campbelltown South

The Campbelltown South campus opened in 2019 and is conveniently located on the corner of Queen and Cordeaux streets, opposite Mawson Park.

It’s an easy five-minute walk to the train station and buses, and most of our students catch public transport to school. It’s also a quick walk to the many cafes, food outlets and shops on Queen Street.

Facilities

The Campbelltown South campus is a modern facility on Level 2. Our six sunny classrooms have a relaxed and calm feel. Smaller class sizes mean students get the help they need.

We have lounges, puzzle tables and art nooks in our common areas. Students have their own modern kitchen and dining area where they can make meals and relax during breaks.

We provide food and snacks for our students to enjoy and it’s not unusual to find our Head of Campus making egg and bacon rolls before school!

It’s a safe, warm and friendly environment at Warakirri College.

What is learning like at Warakirri Campbelltown South?

Our Campbelltown South campus enrols students from Years 10 to 12.

Year 10

For students joining us in Year 10, we work towards a RoSA qualification, with small class sizes, extra learning support and a calm atmosphere.

We focus on improving literacy and numeracy, as this helps across all subject areas. Our junior students are also part of community programs.

Years 11 and 12

We offer a range of ATAR and non-ATAR subjects including english, modern & ancient history, maths, food technology, business studies, CAFS, biology, numeracy and more.

Our students’ learning needs come first and we provide extra support and provisions in exams and assessment tasks.

We encourage our students to be themselves. We only ask that they work with us to aim high and achieve their goals. At Warakirri we know that education matters!

What support do I get at Warakirri Campbelltown South?

We have a fulltime counsellor and youth worker on the staff, and students are given personal support and care. We know all our students’ names because they are part of the Warakirri family.

It’s normal to see our teachers chatting with their students and for Keiko our therapy dog to be playing with her toys!

We have a creche located on the first floor below our school, so our student mums can study. Our creche staff members include a highly experienced childcare educator and an enrolled nurse, meaning young mothers will have all the support they need to successfully parent as well as study.

Getting outside

Education is more than just the classroom, so at Warakirri Campbelltown we value getting our students outside into the beautiful Australian environment. We regularly have excursions and camps run by our Outdoor Educator. There’s nothing like walking along a beach or sitting under the stars to make you feel like you belong!

Getting a job

We have a Careers Advisor who works with our students to help them find career pathways, TAFE opportunities, write resumes and more.

Even once a student has graduated, they can come back for some advice or just to tell us about a great job they have.

We want our students to be passionate and hard-working members of the Macarthur region and beyond!
